Episode Notes

You can’t really manage time, but you can effectively leverage a system to help manage your priorities. On today’s episode, https://eonthemove.com/podcast559, I’ll share my simple system to help you easily manage your calendar on a daily basis.
Events, activities, and more will pop up on your calendar.
The key to effectively managing your priorities is to use a system.
Use a system that categorizes the time you spend doing different tasks or chores.
My mom gave me a system to use my time when I was in primary school to help me with my studies.
However, I’ve since learned how to improve upon that system.
First, you should track what you’re already doing daily. Where are you spending the bulk of your time?
It’s not enough to say, well I’m at work for most of the day, and there’s nothing I can control there.
Not quite. Even at work you can categorize what you do.
And nowadays more people are telecommuting, especially since the COVID pandemic.
  1. A first category should include the tasks you plan to do. This is what I dedicate the majority of my morning to. I’m not talking about meetings.
I’m talking about tasks that I have to do for myself, my family and my clients or business.
Notice I put myself first. If you’re not taking care of yourself first, it’s going to be tough to take care of others consistently and effectively.
So for me, the first part of the day includes prayer, reading and writing, and that’s just the beginning.
I also find time to do a 2-mile walk at least 4 days a week.
So these are planned tasks and they’re for my personal development spiritually, mentally, emotionally and physically.
Put a time for training, learning, on your calendar. Become sharper. If you improve yourself, you’ll end up having more value to the market place.
